Safeguarding

At Barnes Farm Primary School we are fully committed to our statutory duty to safeguard and promote the welfare of all our pupils. We strive to ensure that all our children are safe in school, at home, online and in the community, and expect everyone working with us to take a full and active part in protecting them from harm.

We aim to foster a climate where children and adults feel confident about sharing any concerns which they may have about their own safety or the well-being of others.

Keeping children safe is at the forefront of everything that we do as a school and underpins all policies and procedures.

Our Safeguarding policy gives detailed information about how we work to keep our children safe at school. This has been written with reference to the DFE document ‘Keeping Children Safe in Education 2025:

Keeping children safe in education 2025

We also have a number of additional policies which contribute to the overall safeguarding of our children.

Our policies apply to all staff, parents/carers, governors, volunteers and visitors working within our school.

If you are ever concerned about any child (or any adult coming into contact with children) please report your concerns to:

Designated Safeguarding Lead - Mrs Zanya Farmer

Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead - Mrs Kirsty Robinson

Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead - Mrs Pam Webb

SG Poster

All three Designated Safeguarding Leads have annual Level 3 Safeguarding Update Training.

Our Governor with Safeguarding Responsibility is

Mr Matt Musson

If there are serious concerns about the safety or well-being of a child the school has a duty to notify the Family Operations Hub. We will normally let parents/carers know when we do this, but we will not contact you if we think this would put the child at risk of harm.

If you are concerned that a child is in immediate danger dial 999.
