Remote Home Learning
Remote learning at Barnes Farm Primary School will only be considered as a last resort when in-person attendance is not possible, or when government guidance advises against it.
This might include:
- Occasions when we decide that opening our school is either:
- Not possible to do safely
- Contradictory to guidance from local or central government
Where possible, remote education will follow the same curriculum as in-person lessons. However, some subjects, such as science, PE, and technology, may require adjustments due to the lack of specialised equipment at home. To support children remotely, we will employ a variety of approaches, including:
- Pre-recorded lessons (via platforms such as The Oak Academy, My Maths, PurpleMash, Time Tables Rockstars, Spelling Shed)
- Resource packs (via Tapesty)
- Home reading (through books or online texts)
- Project work
For students with Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities, our Wellbeing Team will maintain regular contact to ensure all necessary support is provided.
In the case of a closure due to adverse weather or unsafe site conditions, an announcement will be made via SchoolComms as soon as possible.
